Efficiency and Coherence

Students at a workshop in Chureca; a Spanish Cooperation Project

Spanish Cooperation is firmly committed to the aid effectiveness agenda, as clearly seen through its active participation in the confirmation process for this same agenda from the Paris Declaration (2005) through to the  Busan Global Partnership (2011); two recent international milestones of great importance, and through its core planning documentation and cooperation policy.

In this respect, we analyse various alternatives, putting into practice those that offer the highest guarantee of quality cooperation and taking into account the limitations imposed by the current situation and its intrinsic complexity. Spanish Cooperation has made great progress in the integration of international aid effectiveness  standards throughout the planning process.

We strive to uphold effectiveness and planning principles through the Country Association Framework agreements (MAP ), the Strategic Association Agreements with OMUDES and the Operating Schedule of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

We align our policies and actions with the policies issued by organisations such as the  European Union,  the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations.

We work to promote the effectiveness agenda and coordinate it with other Spanish Cooperation participants, especially with other Ministries. A task that is reflected biannually in the Spanish Cooperation Policy Coherence Report.
